April Fools
In the country we’re living in, at the time we’re living in it, an April Fools prank is impossible. In a time of war, an unplanned idiotic war, but still war, a TV news host fired the highest ranking General in the army without cause.
The same people who called Ketanji Brown Jackson, by far the most qualified of any recent Supreme Court justice, a DEI hire consider a former plumber with a community college degree qualified to run the Department of Homeland Security.
Marco Rubio, the Secretary of State, a birthright citizen, born in Miami with Cuban immigrant parents argues against birthright citizenship.
The lawyer the White House sent to the Supreme Court to argue against birthright citizenship isn’t sure whether Native Americans are citizens.
Now top any of that with a prank. I dare you to even try.
This is the president’s Easter message:
“Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!! Open the F—-n’ Strait, you crazy bastards, or you’ll be living in Hell – JUST WATCH!” Trump said, adding, “Praise be to Allah.”
This is Pope Leo’s Easter message:
“Let us abandon every desire for conflict, domination and power, and implore the Lord to grant his peace to a world ravaged by wars and marked by a hatred and indifference that make us feel powerless in the face of evil.”
Good luck Mr. Pope.
Maybe there is hope. Podcasters, who we’ve somehow given power over everything to, are flipping or maybe just opening their eyes. Rogan, Shultz and a few others are changing their tunes. So now some bros may wake up. Now, I’ll be transparent. I’ve been friends with Rogan for 25 years. I’ve done the podcast; I work at his club. Joe has never required or expected me to agree with him. Then again, maybe that’s why I’m not a famous podcaster. I don’t see Joe as a huge threat because to be honest, I don’t think “bros” vote. I see idiocy from Cruz, Rubio or Hegseth as far more dangerous than the podcasters. I’m not defending the podcast crew. I just think their power is overstated.
When a bros podcaster has more credibility than a network news anchor the joke is on us. Hell, the news anchor now covers the podcaster.
Are we laughing yet?
Now, I could go on but I’d never stop writing. Is it all bad? No, spring is a season of rejuvenation. We’ve got a new baseball season and with that comes Jackie Robinson Day. For one day every baseball player wears Jackie’s number celebrating Mr. Robinson. Brings a tear to my eyes. Of course, angry rt wingers would call Jackie Robinson the ultimate DEI hire but Jackie Robinson faced that hate and stupidity and changed the game. Longer days, sunshine, hopefully you can get out and just enjoy that. There’s far too much pain, suffering and stupidity out there. Take some time to unplug and soak up the good. Oh, and laugh, always find a way to laugh.
I’ll help if I can.
